THE ELEVATOR SPEECH
Entropy Solutions, Inc., an industry leader in thermal technology, operates with the same vision and passion that existed the day the company started. Our goal is to develop breakthrough thermal solutions to meet the ever-changing needs of temperature-sensitive requirements in various industries. This relentless passion and dedication has led to the development of proprietary technologies that are revolutionizing how things are kept hot, warm, cool or cold. Entropy Solutions was incorporated in December 2003 and remains a private company. Entropy Solutions' global headquarters are based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and operates through wholly owned subsidiaries or partnerships in 35 countries globally.
LOWER COST. LESS WASTE. CLEANER WORLD.
THERE’S NOT TOO MANY COMPANIES OUT THERE THAT WOULDN’T BENEFIT FROM THAT GAME PLAN.
Entropy Solutions' vision is to develop and employ our PureTemp™ PCM technology in the various temperature-control industries throughout the world. We aim to launch our innovative, passive and effective temperature-control solutions in areas that eliminate waste, reduce costs and improve the global quality of life. Entropy Solutions has developed a comprehensive understanding of the requirements for all types of temperature-sensitive products. We are currently able to "dial in" virtually any content temperature required for extended periods of time. With new, state-of-the-art testing facilities, we continue to aggressively research, develop and validate new products that transcend barriers and save lives. While our initial focus was centered on providing thermal protection for temperature-sensitive payloads in the areas of blood, biologics and pharmaceuticals, we are expanding our focus to include a wide range of commercial and industrial applications, such as building and construction, textiles, energy storage and healthcare.
AWARDED PATENTS (OUR LITTLE TROPHY CASE)
Our patented fat- and oil-based PCMs were developed in three years of research sponsored by the USDA-SBIR Phase 1 # 2002-00401 and Phase 2 # 2003-04094 and USDA NRI Competitive Grants Program/USDA # 2001-355504-11208. These PCMs are made from a bio-based technology that underutilizes organic based products — specifically beef tallow, coconut oil and soybean oil — and reconvert them into PCMs. They are non-toxic and provide a new non-food product business opportunity for American farmers. They are capable of thousands of melting and freezing cycles without performance degradation. We currently have more than 210 PCMs developed under the USDA SBIR Phase 1 and 2 grants, in addition to two ongoing grants. The DoD-ARMY STTR Phase 2 Contract # W911NF-07-C-0113 is intended to increase the latent heats of the PCMs to greater than 500 J/g (currently they are 200 J/g). In our preliminary work we are seeing results that approach 2000 J/g. The NSF-SBIR Phase 2 award # 0750470 is intended to create flame-retardant PCMs, and early results are very promising.
